These mini bacon, prawn and avocado kebabs are like someone said, “let’s take all the best keto items and grill them on a skewer!” Bacon? “Yes please!” Prawns? “Yes please!” Avocado? “Oh, stop it, now you are just showing off!” They are a little finicky to make, but totes worth it in the end. A fun, tasty appetiser at your next braai (BBQ)…
Bacon, prawn and avocado kebabs to snack on at a BBQ to replace the crisps and carb-laden snacks. This recipe makes 20 mini skewers and the macros (2.9g carbs per serving) are calculated as 1 serving being 2 skewers
Squeeze a lemon over your chopped avocado, then wrap each avocado cube with a half rasher of bacon. Skewer a prawn onto a mini kebab stick, followed by the bacon-wrapped avocado, and then a second prawn.
In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, tamari and crushed garlic. Brush the kebabs with the marinade and grill over the braai (BBQ) until the bacon has cooked sufficiently.
Serve immediately with halved limes to generously squeeze over. Season with a little Pink Himalayan Salt.
